Workforce Development Program
Medical Assistant Training Course
In February 2023, NeighborHub Health established a new Workforce Development Program. Our program is designed to provide educational opportunities to individuals who may be experiencing homelessness, underemployment, live in a qualified income census tract, or have an income at or below 300% of the Federal Poverty Level.
The Workforce Development Program is currently focusing on Medical Assistant Training with future plans to expand to also offering Dental Assistant Training. Our students receive scholarships to alleviate the financial burden of receiving their training.
Students complete 140 hours of classroom time and an 80-120 hour externship practicum to become trained Medical Assistants and become eligible to sit for the certification exam.
Since inception we have enrolled over 25 students with 100% of program graduates finding rewarding positions as Medical Assistants.
